Abstract

Objective:To study the medication adherence trajectories and its influence factors in elderly patients with Parkinson's disease with latent class growth model (LCGM). Methods:A 12-month follow-up survey was conducted in 124 elderly patients with primary Parkinson's disease, the general information questionnaire and Morisky medication adherence scale were used as survey tools. The LCGM was used to identify the trajectory category of patients' medication adherence, and the factors that affecting the trajectory category were analyzed by multilevel ordered logistic model. Results:The medication adherence type of elderly patients with Parkinson's disease were divided into the high-persistence type, medium-descending type and low-descending type. The differences was statistically significant in educational level, working status, medication types and intellectual level among the high-persistence group, medium-descending group and low-descending group (P<0.05). Multilevel ordered logistic analysis results showed that working status, medication type and intelligence level were the influencing factors that affecting the medication adherence trajectory of elderly patients with Parkinson's disease (P<0.05). Conclusion:The medication adherence trajectory can be divided into three categories, working status, medication type and intelligence level are the influencing factors that affecting the medication adherence trajectory of elderly patients with Parkinson's disease.
