Objective: To explore the intervention effect of multidimensional nursing based on empowerment theory on nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients undergoing radiotherapy. Methods: A total of 50 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated in the Department of Radiation Oncology of a third-class hospital from October 2019 to December 2020 were selected into the observation group (Group F), and introduced the enabling education mode and adopting the multidimensional nursing method. Another 50 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated with radiotherapy in the same period were selected into the control group (Group C) and adopted the routine nursing education mode. The scores of self-management ability, the rate of functional exercise compliance defects and the quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results: Totally 100 questionnaires were distributed and recovered. The scores of self-management ability (self-decision make, self-decompression and positive attitude) in group F were significantly higher than those in group C (P<0.01), the compliance of functional exercise was higher than that in group C (P<0.01), and the quality of life was significantly better than that in group C (P<0.01). Conclusion: The multidimensional nursing model based on empowerment theory has a better prognosis effect on patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy.
