Abstract

Objective: the rat enteritis model was established by nano cerium dioxide (CeO2 NPs) and the formation time of enteritis was determined. Method: SD rats were randomly divided into the control group and the model group. The control group was given deionized water and the model group was given 100mg /kg CeO2 NPs by gavage every other day.Every 15 days after administration, three rats in the model group were randomly selected. The tissues of jejunum, ileum, cecum and colon were stained with H-E for pathomorphological observation to determine the formation time of enteritis. Result: On the 45th day after administration, the intestinal tissues of rats showed inflammatory reaction to various degrees, suggesting that the model was successful. The inflammatory reaction of jejunum and colon was mild, which showed local inflammatory cell infiltration and loose cell arrangement. The ileum and cecum had obvious inflammatory reaction; a large number of inflammatory cells infiltrate, glands were destroyed; villi became shorter, indicating the success of modeling. Conclusion: In this experiment, we constructed the rat enteritis model induced by nano ceria and determined the formation time of enteritis, so as to provide experimental basis for the toxicological study of CeO2 NPs.
