Objective: microRNAs (miRNA,also translated into small RNAs) is a kind of RNA molecule with 21-23 nucleotides in length widely existing in eukaryotes,which can regulate the expression of other genes. As a key participant in many cellular processes,it inhibits post-transcriptional gene expression by specifically binding to the target mRNA,and plays an important role in regulating gene expression,cell cycle,and biological development. Recent studies have shown that microRNAs play an important role in normal renal physiological functions and diseases,and may become prognostic markers and / or potential therapeutic targets in renal diseases.
